Alkaline Post-Filters

Alkaline post-filters are used after the RO membrane in some systems to adjust the final taste or mineral profile of the drinking water. They are a finishing conversation, not a replacement for the membrane or pre-filters.

Where it fits

After the membrane, before the glass

Reverse osmosis water can taste different because dissolved minerals have been reduced. Some customers like a post-filter that changes the final taste profile.

Taste preference

Some customers prefer the taste of water after a remineralization or alkaline-style post-filter.

Not the main reduction stage

The post-filter does not replace the RO membrane, carbon block, or sediment filters.

RO membranes

Still needs replacement

Post-filters have a service life and should be changed on schedule.
