HOW MOEN FLO WORKS
1. Inline device on the main line. Moen Flo is plumbed directly into the incoming water service.

4. Valve response. During qualifying events, the device can automatically close the main water supply. The valve can also be operated remotely or manually.
5. Daily leak checks. Automatic MicroLeak tests briefly isolate the system and watch for pressure loss that may indicate a very small leak.
Moen Flo can identify abnormal flow, pressure changes and failed MicroLeak tests, but those signals do not always tell you exactly which fixture, pipe or underground line is responsible. A smart shutoff helps limit damage; plumbing diagnosis still determines what actually failed.
Useful for spotting unusual use, pressure changes, small pressure-loss leaks and serious events that may justify shutting off the water.
If the cause is not obvious, professional leak detection and plumbing inspection can narrow down the actual source and determine whether pressure, a fixture, a valve or a hidden pipe is involved.

Moen’s current installation guidance places the Flo Shutoff on the home’s potable main after the existing manual shutoff and pressure-reducing valve, when a PRV is present, and before the plumbing branches to fixtures. Planning also needs a nearby 120V outlet, usable Wi-Fi, service access and a pipe arrangement that can be isolated safely.
The device should not be installed on hot-water distribution or required fire-sprinkler/suppression piping. Galvanized piping, well systems, irrigation branches and sediment-control needs should be reviewed against current Moen requirements before installation.

Moen’s current Flo platform combines continuous monitoring with app-based controls, alerts and automatic testing. The Moen Flo App can show live water activity, pressure information, usage history, system status and remote valve control.

WHOLE-HOME LEAK PROTECTION
