A 1.5 cu. ft. two-tank softener for homes that need more capacity and flow than SoftFlo S.
SoftFlo SE uses 1.5 cu. ft. of 8% crosslink resin with a published capacity of 36,000 grains at 9 lb salt. Published flow is 10 GPM nominal and 14 GPM peak. Final sizing should use measured hardness, household demand, expected simultaneous flow, plumbing conditions and the available installation space.

When SoftFlo SE deserves a closer look
SoftFlo SE is the higher-flow fixed-cycle two-tank option in the Water Fixers lineup. It can make sense when the measured hardness, expected daily usage and simultaneous flow demand need more reserve than SoftFlo S while the property has room for a separate resin tank and brine tank.
Home size and family size are only screening guides
A square-footage range does not tell you how hard the water is or how many fixtures may run at once. Water Fixers should confirm hardness, household demand, plumbing size, pressure, existing treatment and installation space before final equipment selection.

INSTALLATION FIT MATTERS
Plan room for the tank, brine tank and future service
The published SoftFlo SE dimensions are a 10 in. diameter × 54 in. high resin tank and a 30 in. high × 18 in. deep brine tank. Salt storage is 300 lb. The valve uses 1 in. inlet and outlet ports, with 3/4 in. and 1 in. bypass adapters.
Do not size the installation from dimensions alone
The final layout also needs usable bypass access, control-valve clearance, salt-loading space, an appropriate regeneration drain route, plumbing access and pressure within the published maximum working pressure of 90 PSI. Existing filtration, pressure equipment and water-heater plumbing may also affect the service layout.

Match the equipment to the actual water problem
A water softener is primarily an ion-exchange treatment for hardness. It should not be presented as the automatic answer to every taste, odor, sediment, staining or drinking-water concern.
Confirmed hardness & scale
If testing confirms hardness and the goal is reducing hardness-related scale and soap inefficiency, compare softener capacity and flow to the household demand.
Taste, odor, sediment or staining
These concerns can require different testing or filtration. Identify the condition before assuming a larger softener will solve it.
Drinking-water goal
Point-of-use drinking-water treatment can be a different problem from whole-house hardness. Keep reverse osmosis and other drinking-water options separate from softener sizing.

Keep maintenance and repair separate from model selection
SoftFlo SE is a serviceable water-treatment system. Routine salt/brine care, settings and performance checks belong on the maintenance path.
